A hippodrome was a Greek arena for horse and chariot racing, the inspiration for this cowl. The pattern features slip stitch ‘sections’ from which spectators watch the races. Each section is divided by a garter stitch ‘aisle’ and accentuated further by alternating the section color. The cowl is a knit-in-the-round tube which can be worn as a long single loop or doubled for extra warmth around the neck.
