This pattern is quite versatile. While we have used it to make tree ornaments, you can make balls for your babies to play with or pets to play with (stuff it with a little catnip and watch your cat go crazy). For those who are a little braver, try knitting this pattern with some fine gauge wire to make earrings, or string a number of them together to make a bracelet or necklace. Use sock weight yarn and a size 0-1 needle, and make smalls balls that you can string together for garland.

My ornament samples range in size from 2”-3” in diameter, depending on gauge at any given time (its been a stressful few months, so some days my knitting is a little tighter than others). Gauge is not crucial in this pattern. You can also make various sizes by using different weight yarn and needles.

You essentially get 2 patterns here; one for an ornament knit in garter stitch and the other in stockinette.
