A perfect introduction to cables, this quick knit is an adorable winter accessory for the small people in your life. Inspired by the fantastical nursery rhyme “The Owl and the Pussycat” by Edward Lear, this hat features a series of knitted owls roosting peacefully around the rim.

The hat is knit in the round; beginning with a ribbed brim, the pattern continues with a cable pattern and finishes with a stockinette stitch crown with a simple decrease repeat. The patterns provides instructions for three sizes: baby (3 - 12 mos), child (12 - 36 mos), and child (3 - 10 years). Different sizing is achieved by altering the number of cable repeats.

All sizes and versions of this hat are made using less than one skein of worsted weight yarn.
