I designed this pattern with very early beginners in mind - I even had a friend of mine, who has only been crocheted for a few weeks, test the pattern for me. The scarf looks complicated but it is incredibly easy/simple and only requires knowledge of 2 basic stitches! If you make a mistake - keep going! It’s likely nobody would even notice! It’s a very forgiving pattern. If you run out of yarn, just fasten off at the end of the last completed row. No stress!

The finished item has two different looks. When it is relaxed it bunches together and looks like thin vertical lines. When it is stretched width wise, it looks similar to a honey comb with many gaps/spaces. Thus the name, ‘Honey Bunches Scarf.’

The amount of yarn needed is flexible. For the scarf in the photos I used 640 yards of Yarn Baby merino/bamboo worsted weight yarn (2 skeins). You could also make this scarf with just 320 yards and you would end up with a thinner/skinner scarf, but still beautiful and still handmade!
