Note: a double-ended Tunisian hook is absolutely required for this project. Size H is recommended, but see gauge section for resizing suggestions.

This is a pattern for matching mitts and a hat worked in Tunisian crochet, mostly in the honeycomb stitch. Built-in colorwork is provided by using one color for the posts and another for the chains of the Tunisian stitches, working in the round. The result is a somewhat stained-glass-like effect, with all the warmth, cushioning and softness of Tunisian crochet.

You will need equal amounts, about a 50g skein each, of two colors of fingering yarn, and a much larger hook than the yarn would take in ordinary crochet. The pattern assumes knowledge of Tunisian simple and purl stitches.
