This all-over lace pattern is often mistaken for crochet. The stitch is a fairly simple pattern repeat and can easily be done by anyone with basic lace knitting skills. The yarn used has a heavier drape than most since it is 100% cotton. Consider knitting this pattern in 100% silk or any viscose type yarn. This scarf was designed for summer knitting so I have not done it in any wool based yarns. I am not sure if the drape will be as nice, but as with most scarf patterns, just about any yarn will do. If you do choose to use a heavier yarn then be sure to adjust your needle size according to the yarn you choose.

As an added design element, the fring on this scarf includes beads. You will need approximate 14 grams of size 8 beads. You will need to use size 6 beads for any heavier weight yarns. An additional note about the beads used: because Czech made seed beads have smaller holes than Japanese made beads, it is important that you are using Japanese made beads. Myuki brand seed beads have larger holes than other brands.
