Hootie Who Owl Ornament
I’ve loved owls ever since my great grandpa’s macramé owl he kept in his living room. It had the Wise Old Owl poem written at the bottom on a hanging piece of paper, and to this day it’s the only poem I can quote verbatim (or at least as it was written on that owl – see below for actual poem).
In honor of that hanging owl, I have created my own. These cute little hanging owls are great for decorating just about anything. Trees, purses, backpacks, the places you can put these are endless. With basic increases and decreases you can make one of these up super quick.
But don’t stop at making small ornaments, change to a bigger yarn and hook and make a full size stuffed animal. Make a bunch to decorate your kid’s bed. It’s such an easy pattern that you can make them for everyone.
The pattern gives you instruction on how to create the single color owl and then gives you color change information for the monochromatic owl and striped owl (all pictured).
The Wise Old Owl
A wise old owl sat on an oak,
The more he saw, the less he spoke,
The less he spoke, the more he heard,
Why can’t we all be like that bird?
