“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -

~ Emily Dickinson

This pattern was designed for gradient yarn, but it looks lovely in solid and tonal yarn as well. The pattern is very flexible and can accommodate anywhere from 400 - 575 yards of light fingering, fingering, or light sport weight. Instructions are included for standard and extra long sizes. A 100g skein of fingering will make the standard size; 120g - 150g is an appropriate amount for the larger size.

Materials

  • 100g (490 yds / 450 m) Play at Life Fiber Arts Yuuka Maki, or 1 - 100 g skein fingering for standard size.
  • 150g (574 yds/ 525 m) Wollmeise Pure, 150g (546 yds/ 500 m) Wollmeise Blend, or 1.5 - 100g skeins fingering for extra large.
  • US 5 / 3.75 mm - 32 in/80 cm or longer circular needles, or needles required to reach gauge. Recommendations:
  • US 5 / 3.75 mm for light fingering
  • US 6 / 4 mm for fingering
  • US 7 / 4.5 mm for light sport
  • Stitch markers.

The pattern includes written and charted instructions for lace, and the lace is only worked on the front side so it is a very fast knit. The pattern has been tested and tech edited. Please feel free to email or post in the Golden Apple Threads Group if you have any questions.
