Worked using the butterfly stitch from the top down.

Stitches used
Ch = chain
Sl st = slip stitch
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
Tc = treble crochet also known as triple crochet

Gauge:
Completed butterfly, 7 sts wide x 3 rows = 2 ¼” x 1” 5.7 x 2.5 cm

Finished Measurements:
5” high x 6 ⅜” wide at top and ~5” at bottom - since it’s circular, 6 ⅜” is the measurement while it is laid flat.

NOTE: I have written it out using the conventional methods, but when I made mine I used foundation hdc to start instead of chaining, chainless starting hdc instead of ch1, hdc in same st as joining, chainless starting dc instead of ch3 and the invisible decrease. You can do the same if you wish.

As you work the pattern, the butterflies will form pointing downward over 3 rows.

You can add an edging, if desired, do more rows of ribbing, and/or make the cuff narrower or wider by decreasing or increasing the number of rows.
To change size, I recommend changing the hook size. If you are more experienced, feel free to play around with the stitch count!
