This scarf is designed to be a summer scarf, light and airy. Using a yarn with linen will add to the summer feel. Since this scarf is cast on for the long edge, all of the drop stitches end up appearing horizontally across the scarf. At the same time the color change striping appears to run vertically through the scarf. The combination of vertical and horizontal details draws the eye and makes this scarf a great addition to any wardrobe.

Note Both chart and written instructions are provided. There are also instructions for the color striping. You can pick between the two striping examples or make one up.

Yarn The main example for this scarf uses two balls of Zooey by Juniper Moon Farm, one in each color. The color striping notes for the Zooey scarf are not symmetrical. The second example scarf in this pattern is made with four balls of Firefly by Classic Elite Yarns, three balls of the main color and one of the added color. The color striping notes for the Firefly scarf are symmetrical.
