Inspired by horse races like the “Kentucky Derby” (which was also mentionied in “Justified”) this beanie came into existence.

It has a multicolor ribbing, the typical white horse race fence, jockeys and horses and spectator stands. At the crown is a blue sky with some tiny clouds and the sun is beaming at the top!

As in some countries the horses go the other direction, you can choose if your horses run from the right to the left or the other way round.
Both charts are included in the pattern.

For bigger sizes go up one or two needle sizes and/or use 5-ply yarn or both.
So you can also use Acrylic or Merino yarn of similar weight or a bit thicker.

I knitted the whole beanie in 4-ply sock yarn leftovers.
For the spectators some smaller leftovers from your stash will be enough.

Please note: It’s easier to knit than you may think as there are at most two colors in one round.

Diese Mütze habt Ihr Pferderennen wie dem “Kentucky Derby” zu verdanken (wurde auch in einer Folge von “Justified” erwähnt).

Sie ist komplett in 4-fach Sockenwolle gestrickt.
Ihr könnt aber auch Acryl- oder Merinogarn ähnlicher Stärke oder etwas dicker verwenden.

Sie hat einen mehrfarbigen Bund, die typischen weißen Zäune beim Pferderennen, gefolgt von den Jockeys auf ihren Pferden.
Da die Pferde in unterschiedlichen Ländern mal von links nach rechts oder umgekehrt rennen, sind beide Varianten in diesem Muster enthalten.
Im Anschluß folgen die bunten Zuschauerränge und darüber ein blauer Himmel mit kleinen Schäfchenwolken über dem die Sonne lacht.
