My squirrel beanie is knitted from 4-ply sock yarn of different manufacturers but you can also use 4-ply Acrylic or Merino yarn.

For bigger sizes you can go up a needle size and/or use 5-ply yarn or both.

The beanie has a corrugated multicolor ribbing, followed by bands of oak leaves, acorns and cute little squirrels with nuts.
At the top are pairs of squirrels with nuts and oak leaves.

The beanie is a bit longer than my usual beanies. So for small heads it will be more of a long beanie. For bigger heads it will fit just fine.

As a another autumn variation you could change the leave color to red or orange…

It’s easier to knit than you may think as there are at most two colors in one round. :)

Die Eichhörnchenmütze ist wie immer aus 4-fach Sockenwolle gestrickt. Alternativ könnt Ihr auch Acrylgarn oder Merinogarn ähnlicher Stärke oder etwas dicker verwenden.
Für größere Köpfe empfiehlt sich 5-fach Garn und/oder eine Nadelstärke größer.
Die Mütze hat einen mehrfarbigen Bund, gefolgt von Eichenblättern, Eicheln und kleinen Eichhörnchen mit Nüssen.
Obendrauf sind Eichhörnchenpaare mit Nüssen und den Abschluß bilden Eichenblätter.

Die Mütze fällt etwas länger aus. Ist bei kleinen Köpfen eher eine Longbeanie. Bei größeren wird sie einfach so passen.
