Q: What does a steaming mug of hot cocoa have in common with a beautiful pair of fine-gauge merino legwarmers?
A: They both are one of winter’s simple pleasures and help to keep a body cozy and comfortable. (This pair of legwarmers is also a lovely cocoa hue.)

Three sizes and two different color options allow you to customize these legwarmers for ages preteen to adult. The fit is slightly tapered at the ankle to flatter. Perfect for morning commutes, dance class, skating…and stylish enough to wear all day.

For simplicity, the legwarmers are worked in the round in variegated yarn for the easiest option. Knitting in the round with entrelac gives a perfectly seamless, beautiful finished project with no hints of transitions at the beginning of rounds whatsoever, unlike results that you sometimes get with Fair-isle knitting in the round. Also, there are no loose loops of yarn for toes to get caught in—continuous knitting all around. And no yarns to carry—this method is wonderful!

I also include instructions for using two contrasting colors in the round with only two extra steps needed between rounds to keep yarn continuous, so that there will be only a couple of yarn ends to weave in for finishing—again, gorgeous color with no loose loops to catch toes on! There is no carrying of yarns—completely continuous knitting! Instructions for this new method are included.
