This pattern is available as a free Ravelry download

This pattern is free to download, but please give a charity donation in return to Marie Curie through the link below

This pattern was the result of a design challenge, to design anything at all using a technique new to the designer. It uses the double knitting technique to create a two-layer fabric with the motif mirrored on the reverse side. It includes links to online photo and video tutorials to show you how to cast on for and work the double knitting technique.

You will need approximately 50 yards of each colour of yarn, size 2mm needles for knitting in the round, and a darning needle. Worked to pattern tension of 6sts/1” on each side the cup cosy will fit a medium to large takeaway style hot drink cup with no handles.

You can click here to donate what you can in return for this pattern.

You will need to be able to: work a long-tail cast-on (two colour tutorial link provided), work in the round, read a colourwork chart (the motif is charted only).

The payment is worked on an honour system - I’m relying on honest knitters to do the right thing and donate whatever you can, no matter how small, by clicking just here!!
