Note about top and bottom edges:
Although some people use a stretchier knit, purl at the beginning and end, rather than the pattern’s garter stitch, I find the cozy stretches out as you use it, and the garter stitch keeps it from stretching too much.

TIP: Finished projects weigh exactly 12g, so if you have a small kitchen scale, you can just weigh the yarn you have on hand to see if you have enough for the cozy.
