These Hot Pad Mini Mitts are practical in the kitchen and a fun knit! Work up in your kitchen’s colors and use often or gift to a foodie friend. Whether given alone or with a unique kitchen gadget (like this ebelskivers pan!), they’re sure to be warmly received!

These hot pad finger mitts have protection where you need it – covered fingers and a double knit (see note below), extra-thick base. They also are knit seamlessly with short row shaping (using the German Short Rows method). (Instructions in pattern.) First work the finger top, then the unique double knit bottom, then the thumb top. Finish off with a decorative I-cord edge and hanging loop.

These makes a great gift! In fact, the last pattern page is all about gifting them! Mix and match the many different gift giving ideas and turn these into a personalized present perfect for many different occasions.

NOTE: This pattern uses the double knit stitch (as opposed to double knitting). It’s not difficult and creates a great, thick base!

Techniques used: Knit, purl, provisional CO, German Short Rows (instructions in pattern), picking up sts, working in the round, and I-cord BO.
