Hot Potato is a slipper sock pattern which combines a basic upper with a jacquard double knit heel, sole and toe to create exceptional warmth and padding where you need it most.

The upper part is worked in single thickness, but the heel, sole and toe are worked using jaquard double knitting giving double thick heel and toe, and a squashy, cushioned, triple thick sole.

Whilst the double knitting isn’t in itself difficult, this sock does require a little bit of concentration in places. The sock as written works up well for adult feet, consider going down a needle size for smaller feet or even slightly fulling the sock for an even denser finish.

Exact yardage will depend on your size, but plan to have 100g of a typical aran/worsted for your main colour and about 50g of contrast colour available.
