Not just for kids, this cosy and sweet hot water bottle sheep ! Hold it in your arms and it will keep your tummy warm !

This --- PDF CROCHET PATTERN --- will guide you to crochet (using US crochet terminology) a hot water bottle cover as shown in pictures, made using soft acrylic yarn DK / 8 ply (wool or cotton will be suitable too) and crochet hook J (6 mm). This pattern works up quickly by crocheting it with 2 strands of yarn, held together. This will give a nice and soft, thick and insulating effect. Stylecraft Special DK was used to create the sheep in the pictures.

Finished size of the cover will be approx. 18” (46 cm) tall.
There will be an opening on the back side to insert your hot water bottle easily, with a button closure.
The cover will also have an opening at the bottle’s neck, for easily filling/emptying the bottle.

You could also use this cover as a pyjama case or as a pillow, when stuffed with a fiberfill insert.

Cover will fit any standard 2 Liter rubber hot water bottle, size 7,87” x 10.63” (20 x 27 cm) measured excluding spout.

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, loop stitches, increasing and decreasing, working in continuous rounds.

Materials used:

  • crochet hook size J (6 mm)
  • yarn in stone (approx. 110 gram, 330 m, 350 yds), mocha (approx. 135 gram, 400 m, 435 yds), cream (approx. 60 gram, 175 m, 195 yds), dark brown (approx. 22 gram, 65 m, 70 yds), red (approx. 17 gram, 50 m, 55 yds) small amount of pink
