The double layers of this two colour slipped stitch headband makes it the perfect stylish accessory for cold weather. The combination of on trend, vintage aesthetic with on trend, old fashioned practicality, makes it the headband you’ll return to year after year.

The incredibly simple, one colour at a time, slipped stitch pattern makes it perfect meditative or tv or queue knitting.

Combine a gradient, variegated yarn or even a parade of leftovers with a workhorse solid to striking effect.

The headband starts with a provisional cast on and is finished by using kitchener stitch to graft the live sts from the cast on to the final row of knit sts.

These are great skills to have and to learn, but if you do not feel comfortable with a provisional cast on or kitchener stitch grafting, you can cast on and off as usual and neatly sew the two ends of your knitting together.

Full, step by step, instructions for both the crochet provisional cast on and Kitchener Stitch graft are provided on the ‘Techniques’ page of the pattern.

You will need 50g (200m) of the main and 50g (200m) of the contrast yarn.

The pattern provides full instructions to ensure a good secure custom fit.
