The Houndstooth Picnic Blanket is thick and cozy, yet still has a fabulous drape. The stitch pattern is attractive on both sides, and easy to crochet. Classic neutral colors with a “pop” of color in the border make this blanket a treat for the eyes.

An elongated stitch (Deep Double Crochet) is used in the body of back and forth rows to work the long “tooth” down into two rows below. The color changes do not require cutting yarn – carry the unused color up the side and cover it with the edging.
