This is a great pattern to use for new moms. I have made several as gifts and they loved them so much, that I wrote the pattern. Easy to use and comfortable for baby.

The 2 poncho pieces are knit separately and then stitched together. There is a cable pattern on the poncho and when you look closely, it forms X’s and O’s, for Hugs and Kisses.

The hat and poncho use 400 yards of yarn. The extra 100 yards of yarn is for the embellishment. Feel free to dive into your stash for the embellishment.

The poncho pictured used a DK weight yarn. I have, and others have, knitted it successfully from worsted weight yarn. The fabric is just a bit firmer, but not much. The gauge given was met by both yarns, DK and worsted weight.

The bows can be made all one color if desired.

There is a chart for the cable portion of the poncho pieces. The poncho is made in two pieces and stitched together. Instructions are very good and a picture demonstrates the constructions.

I have updated Row 8 (in the Body) of the pattern. End that row with a k1, p1, k1, p1.
If you wish to reprint your directions, it has been corrected in the pattern. But, with it just being those four stitches changed, you may wish to just write it on your pattern and save the paper and ink.

I am very sorry for the error, I try very hard to have a nearly perfect pattern when they are ready to sell.

The PDF pattern, that is sent out as of today, Feb 29, is the corrected version.
