The Huldra shawl is part of the beautiful and unique Danish knitting book named Sjaler Nordfra (litteral translation: Shawls from the North) inspired by the wild Nordic nature and the stories of the creatures that live there.

Hopefully it will also soon be part of the English version, which will be named Nordic Shawls – please feel free to spread the word about this Kickstarter :)

Huldra is a fleeting, alluring forest creature in Scandinavian folklore. She can be recognised by her tail, which she will hide as she lures men to her den in the forest or mountain. If they stay too long with her, they will never find their way back home.
