These yarns are yummy, they both have a lovely sheen to them!

You will need 150g of Berroco Captiva in Shade 5540 Mascarpone (Main Colour) it comes in skeins of 50g/89 yards/90m and 100g of King Cole Shine Shade 1719 Festive which comes in 100g balls (you’ll only use about 50g of this one).

The Shine yarn is colour changing with a mixture of greens (which I used for the stem), red (for the flower bells) and purple/pale green/dark green (for the birds). Before you start break the Shine yarn into separate balls for the separate colours, using up about half the ball.

The pattern starts with a lacy edge, then goes into the charts for the 3 different types of hummingbirds, all sipping from the same stem of red cardinal flowers on a lacy background. The 3 birds are then repeated, using the charts upside down so that the birds are all facing the right way when the scarf is hung around the neck. The scarf then finishes with the lacy edging.

Some experience is required of colour work.

Lighter weight yarns could be used for an even more delicate summery or evening wear scarf, as gauge is not important, as long as the yarns all weigh the same and the needles match the yarn used.
