Hunter Knee Highs are designed with Hunter Boots in mind. They not only keep you warm as you’re walking through puddles, but also help create a feeling of a more snug fit around the calf. The rib folds right over the boot, showing off the knitty goodness inside, and accenting your raincoat.

The socks are worked in luxurious cables, with decreases added along the cuff to ensure perfect fit, and an optional tubular cast-on that ensures a stretchy feel and tidy look. The classic Dutch heel and four point toe means a well-defined shape for each element of the sock, and a sock that won’t slip off.

Sizing
We explain how to increase the sock circumference and foot length if needed, including how to increase the size of the heel and toe. The measurements can only be decreased by using smaller needles and/or lighter yarn.

Materials
About 250 g of DK weight merino wool, US size 3 circulars, and a sewing needle - a pretty simple kit! If you would like to work the tubular cast-on, remember to pick up some waste yarn and smaller needles.

Skills
The sock is worked in cables, so it’s good to know how to use cable needles or otherwise switch stitches around. That said, if you’ve never tried it before, this is a perfect opportunity to give it a shot!

Note also that the pattern for the cables is presented in a chart, though all other instructions are written.

Enjoy!
