Our family was a canoeing family, and some of my favorite memories as a child are from time spent in an 18 ½foot Kevlar canoe. Growing up, on Saturday mornings my dad and I would load the canoe onto our car and head to the river to paddle and fish. It was always quiet on the river in the early hours of the morning, and that time was special. The Huron River winds its way through the three Michigan counties I’ve called home, and is still a favorite place to spend a summer afternoon, or an early Saturday morning.

If you’re looking for the perfect way to knit from the “shrine of sacred yarn”look no further. This attractive cowl makes good use of a semi solid yarn and beautiful buttons in quick time. The stitch pattern is rhythmic and simple, but will make you feel clever and nearly flies off the needles. A perfect gift for yourself or someone you love.
