This is just the chart I used for the hat shown. It is 100 stitches and I used worsted weight yarn, size 6 (ribbing) and 8 (body) needles.

Use whatever weight, size, etc. you need. Feel free to modify the chart for more of less stitches by taking out spacers, narrowing letters, dropping exclamation points, etc.
