Cable-stitch patterns resembling flower petals create the lively fabric of the Hydrangea Cardigan. The sweater is worked back and forth from the bottom up to the underarm, and then the fronts, back, and sleeves are worked separately and seamed. Set-in sleeves, matching buttons, and wool-mohair yarn give this sweater a vintage vibe.

NOTES

  • This cardigan is worked back and forth in one piece to the armholes, and then the fronts and back are worked separately. The sleeves are worked flat from the bottom up. A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches.

  • When working the armhole and sleeve shaping, work decreases and increases in pattern.
