Bats are amazingly awesome, and sorely underappreciated, animals! They are incredibly important to the ecosystem and help keep pest insect populations under control, and yet for some reason many people don’t like them…

So to remedy this travesty, the “I am the Night” cowl allows your fiber creation to constantly hug you around the neck, showing just how cuddly our winged friends are in spirit.

“I am the Night” uses worsted weight yarn and is double-knitted in the round so the sides mirror each other. The cowl uses a little less than 200 yards each of two highly contrasting colors. This pattern assumes a basic understanding of double-knitting but you can find great instructional videos on YouTube if you need help mastering any aspect of the technique.

This pattern is perfect for Halloween or anytime you want to show some love for winged mammals :-)

$1 from each pattern sold will be donated to an organization that helps to fight the climate crisis, to build a more sustainable world for our future.
