I Needed a Hat
I wasn’t ready for winter, 2020. Even though it was undeniably coming, I hadn’t yet unearthed my winter clothes, and — BAM, we got hit with plummeting temps and a snowstorm that left 6” of heavy wet stuff all over the place. It was great for building snow people, if that’s what you wanted to do. The fall leaves hadn’t totally fallen yet!
I scrambled through my hastily and haphazardly packed away accessories in search of the hat I would surely find, but much to my surprise, I had none! Winter was here and I needed a hat!
This pompom reached out and grabbed me at the end of last winter. I found matching yarn with the intention of immediately whipping up a hat. As things go in my knitting life, other projects bumped that idea. We moved into spring and my fabulous pom hat never got made.
During the pre Halloween snow, I found the yarn and pompom and got busy. This is a super easy project, knit in two nights, made special by the gorgeous pom. Treat yourself and splurge on a really great pompom. It will make any hat fabulous. You’ll love that! Enjoy!
Materials
1 skein of Malabrigo Washted yarn, knit using a double strand. OR another chunky weight yarn.
