Icebreaker is a top-down, seamless cardigan with set-in sleeves, shawl collar and comfortable, deep pockets.
Upper back part is worked first from shoulders to the underarms, then the stitches of the fronts are picked up from the cast on edges of the back shoulders and fronts are worked to the underarms.
Then the pieces are joined and worked in one piece to the hem.
The body of the cardigan is knit in English Rib: a very easy stitch pattern that creates beautiful, textured surface.
The stitches of the sleeve caps are picked up around the armhole, sleeve caps are shaped with „wrapless short row” technique, that uses only regular increases, and handles the picked up stitches as „joining” stitches.
Sleeves are worked from the underarm to the cuff in the round in stockinette stitch.
The shawl collar is worked simultaneously with the body.
The pocket linings are worked during finishing and then they are sewn in.
