The hat is worked in the round from the top down.

I used blossom stitch for the main portion of the hat because it’s sort of lacy but dense enough to be nice and warm. The icicle fringing is optional – you can just do the first round for a scalloped edge and add an applique leaf or two for an autumn version, or flower for a springtime version

In addition to the specified yarn you will also need a small amount of white/cream yarn for the edging and snowflake.
