Icicles Cardigan
Brace yourself against the wind in this striking cardigan knit top-down with a round yoke of icicles. I-cord edging lends a sophisticated finishing touch.
Materials: Worsted/light-worsted weight wool in two colours – MC (white) – 656 (738, 835, 926, 1018, 1115, 1207, 1318, 1409) yds 600 (675, 764, 847, 931, 1020, 1104, 1205, 1288) m; CC (blue) – 286 (329, 377, 434, 417, 440, 496, 518, 536) yds 262 (301, 345, 397, 400, 402, 454, 474, 490) m.
Yarn Details: MC – Quince & Co. ‘Lark’ in Frost, 100% wool, 134 yds/50g; CC – hand-spun using Ashford Silk & Merino sliver, 4 oz of each of Damson and Salva to spin two smooth singles in the separate colourways using a worsted/semi worsted technique and plied together, 10wpi.
Needles: US6 4.0mm circular & DPNs
Gauge: 20 stitches and 28 rows per 4” 10cm square in stockinette
Finished Size: 29 (33, 37, 41, 45, 49, 53, 57, 61)” 73.5 (84, 94, 104, 114.5, 124.5, 134.5, 145, 155) cm bust
Other: tapestry needle for darning ends; stitch markers; scrap yarn to hold sleeve stitches, 5 1-inch 2.5 cm buttons, crochet hook to reinforce yoke, if desired.
