If a Mermaid Had Feet is a pair of toe-up socks inspired by exactly what the name implies. What would it look like if a mermaid actually had feet? In my imagination, they would start off with smaller scales that gradually get bigger. This image is what I used to design these socks.

The three different versions of the same stitch pattern (they differ only in number of stitches and rounds) creates a sock that’s fun to knit, as the stitch pattern is easy to memorize and becomes intuitive after a few rounds.

So, grab your needles and yarn and surrender to the call of the sea. You never know what magick might unfold as you knit yourself a pair of mermaid-like socks.
