I’ve had a few questions about moving the stitch markers. You will mark the first stitch of each increase, which moves the increase one stitch in either direction every row.

Growing up in Northern Michigan made for great times and easy living. Every summer we would take the long trek up to St. Ignace, Michigan. A small city just on the other side of the Mackinac Bridge.

This shawl was inspired by my summers next to the campfire. Mornings would awaken us with a slight chill and Nana’s ‘cowboy coffee’ would be waiting for me. It was cool enough to feel a chill but not cool enough for a sweater - that perfect temperature for a shawl.

Ignace is worked in one large piece from the top down, meaning you start with a small number of stitches and grow it out to a larger number. It is great for beginners who are trying their hand at lace or more advance crocheters looking for a quick gift. It took me less than 3-hours to stitch this up and only one skein of yarn!

You should be comfortable with the double crochet stitch, double treble crochet stitch, and chain stitch.

The finished size of the shawl is approximately 48” from tip to tip and about 15” deep. Blocking aggressively is needed with this piece.
