Igneous is a balaclava! It’s knit flat at first and then in the round, all in one piece, in a sport/DK weight yarn. It’s shown in Malabrigo Arroyo in Archangel, in the smaller size.

Combined ribbing and welts make this balaclava flexible to wear: the face part can be pulled down or up, or the neckwarmer part can be folded up to make a hat.

Materials:

  • 201-268 yards or 1 skein of Malabrigo Arroyo or Washtd, any colorway (Azules for the larger sample; the smaller sample colorway is Archangel).
  • 1 16” circular needle in US6/4.0mm, or size needed for gauge
  • Tapestry needle

Gauge:
Gauge is 22 sts and 30 rows in blocked stockinette measured over 4”/10cm, knit flat. Please be sure to check your gauge.
