Il Mare - a beautiful, classic pullover to be cheerished for years!

My walks along the ocean is the source behind so many of my designs…. I walk, I admire, I think about nothing except the beauty of the ever changing sea and sky…. all of a sudden I have a design in my head - I don’t know how it happened:)

Design Lovely “waves-of-the-sea” lace embellishes the front and sleeves of this sweater. Double moss-st is used for the back. Collar, cuffs and hem are worked in double rib-st. The sweater is straight - but worked in a soft yarn it drapes beautifully around the body. Sample is worked in size 2 with approximately 2” of positive ease.
The pullover is long, the lower body could be adjusted to your preferred length:)

Construction The lower body is worked bottom up and in the round to underarms. Work is split and upper back and front are worked flat in separate pieces. Sleeves are worked bottom up and in the round. Increases are worked towards the lace-panel which means that you will have no ugly marks. Shoulders are seamed, sleeves are set in. Sts are picked up around the neck-opening, the collar is worked in the round.

Sizes Finished chest measurement, after washing/blocking: 33/34.5/36/38/40/42/43.5/45.5”.

Materials
Yarn: baa ram ewe’s ”Titus”, a sport weight yarn that comes in skeins of 100gr/3.53 oz and 320m/350yards. To work the pullover you need 4/4/5/5/5/5/6/6 skeins of this specific yarn.
Needles: circular needles, size 2.5mm/US1.5 for the hem/collar. Circular needles 3mm/US2.5 for the main body. Dpns or circular needle 2.5mm/US1.5 for the cuffs.
Dpns or circular needle 3mm/US2.5 for the sleeves.
Notions: removable stitch-markers. Separate holders.

Gauge
26 sts and 34 rows in stockinette st = 10x10cm/4x4”.
I used needle size 3mm/US2.5 to obtain gauge. This is a suggestion only, you will need to work a swatch to determine your gauge/needle size.
