This shawl shows a forest through the seasons.
It starts in spring with lily of the valley, next is summer with leaves fully grown, and ends with autumn, with the acorns grown.
The added beads in the edge give a sprinkling of snow.

The shawl is worked in a faroes style with a lace spine and a lace and nupps or beaded body.
The lace and beaded edge is knitted on after the body is completed.
The beads are optional, but give the shawl a really nice drape and secures the shawl around the shoulders.

Materials:
905 m (990 yards) laceweight yarn for beaded, or
1260 m (1380 yards) for nupped version.

256 beads for body and 441 beads for border, if used.

4 stitch markers

If using beads, tiny crochet hook or similar needed for beading stitches.

Finished size:
165 cm x 67 cm (65 ‘’ x 26 ‘’)
