I was inspired by a poster’s request for an Imperial Officer hat pattern and decided to design one. It took me a few tries to work it to my satisfaction, but I am very pleased.

The pattern is comprehensive, including photographs. The body of the hat is worked first and then the flaps and brim are added after. The pattern uses a provisional cast on, decreasing, picking up stitches, and short row shaping. The only stitches used are knit and purl.

It is actually a fairly, in my opinion, easy project. I just takes a little more time than your average hat with no extra details. Well worth it if you have a Star Wars fan in your life!
