I came up with this simple twist on seed stitch using some slipped stitches when looking for a fun way work with a gradient set. I wanted the colors to almost melt into each other.

I was happy with the pattern, but I was even more delighted that the wavy pattern was nicely striped on the reverse side.

You don’t need to use a gradient set of yarn for this - it’s also perfect for using up leftovers. And if you have a set of mini-skeins…

The sample was made with fingering weight yarn, but this pattern can easily be worked in any weight of yarn.

  • small sample used a gradient set of Sweet Paprika Yarns Elora (blue to yellow)
  • large sample used 5 balls of Knit Picks Palette (beige to black)
