As always in my pattern designs, I hope to introduce the knitter to a new technique. The Intarsia at the edge and the Mosaic designs are easier to knit than they look.

This pattern is fully written with no charts.

This design does use three colorways of yarn. The Mosaic design shows the best with two colors that contrast each other. The third color should be a combination of two colors used in the Mosaic design. It will be used for the upper portion of the shawl and a little section below the Mosaic design. The Intarsia edge color will also be used in the Mosaic design and the lace below the Mosaic design.

The design begins at the neck similar to a neck tab. This continues down the shawl to create a beautiful seed stitch edging on each side of the shawl. For this shawl the edge stitches are one color and the top portion of the body of the shawl is a different color. This is the Intarsia of the design. Twist the two colors on the back is all that is required, then only one color is used across the row. After the simple lace at the top there is a slipped stitch (Mosaic) design. The mosaic is slipped stitches, using one color at a time. The written instructions for the Mosaic section indicate which stitches to slip, knit or purl. Then the design is finished with a beautiful lace design.

Indian Creek is the name of the creek that runs beside my childhood home. So many wonderful memories were created in or on the bank of the creek.
