Cozy cables are a great way to add style and texture to an otherwise simple knitting project. If you’ve never done cables before, this project is the perfect one to start you off. All cable stitches are explained in detail and it is a very simple cable pattern to begin with. Great for a boy or girl, baby or teen, this is a great hat pattern for just about anyone!

Sizes offered: 0-6 mo (6-12 mo, 1-3 years, 4-12 years, teen/adult small-med)
Finished hat sizes (unstretched): 13.75” up to 19”
(Hat is designed with negative ease, so each hat will comfortably stretch about 2 - 2.5 inches beyond the “finished size” for a proper fit.

Gauge: 19 stitches X 32 rows = 4” x 4” in stockinette

Explanation of Cables:
C4B: Slip (as if to purl) 2 sts onto cable needle and hold to the back of work. K2, then P2 off of cable needle

C4F: Slip (as if to purl) 2 sts onto cable needle and hold to the front of work. Depending on which part of the pattern you are working on, you’ll either knit or purl the next two stitches (just work then as they were worked in the previous row - knit a knit stitch or purl a purl stitch), then knit the two from your cable needle.

C3B: Slip (as if to purl) 1 stitch onto cable needle and hold to the back of work. K2 sts, then P1 stitch from cable needle.

C3F: Slip (as if to purl) 2 sts onto cable needle and hold to the front of work. P1 then K2 sts from cable needle.
