A chunky 2 x 2 rib slouchy hat inspired after a trip to Inisheer - the smallest of the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland.

Worked from the bottom up with a cable panel running up the side of the hat. The cable panel is created by bringing knit stitches together into a larger column, then worked using a combination of traditional cable techniques to make the plait effect. Everything is then reversed and repeated to the top of the hat. The cable panel is shaped slightly towards the top, and a final row of decrease is worked to create the slouchy shape.

The finished size can easily be adapted by adding or subtracting stitches from the cast on - info given in pattern.

NOTE - if adding stitches you may need an extra hank.
