This fabulous hat is brimming with style and fun techniques to keep you engaged as you knit. Worked from brim to top, Inspector Bucket begins with a provisional cast-on, proceeds to a picot turning edge, and is followed by a knitted braid and welted top. Finally, it is embellished with knitted roses in two sizes.

Equally good-looking on guys, Inspector Bucket is easily adapted to a more masculine version by simplifying the brim and omitting the floral embellishments.

Wear with the brim down as a bucket hat, or up in a modified fedora style. Great look, either way!

Both 16” circulars and double points are used, or top can be worked with Magic Loop technique.

An online video tutorial for the provisional cast-on is available here.
