DESIGNER NOTE
Construction begins by creating a yoke flat in Entrelac. The initial tier begins with a series of rectangles each beginning with a provisional cast on done in waste yarn. The following tier and every other tier in the yoke begins with a provisionally cast on rectangle and ends in a rectangle with live stitches being placed on hold. The piece is separated at the back neck and each shoulder, front and neck edge shaping is worked separately and then joined again at the center front. Upon completing the yoke flat, the Entrelac pattern is continued joining the front and back by removing the provisional cast on and working in seamless Entrelac for several more tiers. The Entrelac pattern is then transitioned into Vine Lace worked in the round toward the hem of ribbing. The stitches on hold for the sleeve are continued in seamless Entrelac ending with a lace tier of rectangles to create a zigzag edge. The same process is repeated for the other sleeve after removing the provisional cast on from each rectangle.

The pattern includes schematic diagrams for all sizes and written instructions for the entrelac and lace portions. Correction to Tier 1 instructions which should read “With project yarn, work 11 rows of St st over 5 sts, beg and end with K row” following instructions for provisional cast on.
