This Interlocking Stripes Hat is a wonderful introduction to fair isle or stranded knitting without the stress. Working with only two colors at a time, you can start to learn the process of holding and tensioning two yarns simultaneously.

The chic, close-fitting hat makes it an ideal gift and accessory for a broad range of recipients. Its simple construction also lets you focus on the colors which you can rearrange in an infinite array of combinations. The hat is one size, but can be easily modified to be larger or smaller knitting more or less rows and using more or less cast on stitches in multiples of four. Using the pattern, you can also alter it to add more or less striped rows and work with more colors.

This pattern is ideal for a beginning colorwork knitter or the advanced knitter who wants a good mindless knit for traveling or watching TV. The result is a modern yet playful garment anyone can wear.
