These mittens are designed to match with the Intersections Break Hat designed by Mel Ski of the SingleHandedKnits podcast. They contain a simple cable pattern along the top side of the mitten with reverse stockinette stitch on the palm; which makes for a really soft inside against your hand! Luscious to the eyes and to the skin.

These mittens also include a fun feature for those of you that get cold hands when you have to answer a text. A texting hole is created on each thumb to allow for your thumb to slip out of the mitten and back in quickly for those that use a touch screen smartphone! Instructions for this feature are included at the end of each set of instructions for the mittens. So if you are eager to include this feature in your mittens, make sure you read the special instructions!

Gauge:

  • 7 stitches/inch in cable pattern
  • 5 stitches/inch reverse stockinette

Feel free to use any worsted weight yarn. Would look really cool in handspun! Also, make sure you grab the Intersections Break Hat pattern by Mel Ski to have the complete set! Both patterns are quick knits and make a great gift set.
