This pattern makes a ruched tube that can be worn as a convertible hat with an opening for hair. It can easily be customized to any length and made with any yarn. Longer tubes can be tucked into the back to be worn as a hat, left long to protect curls or braids, and also makes a great neckwarmer.

You will be measuring the circumference of the head that will wear this hat to start off. If you want a slouchier look, or want something to protect curls or braids, then add a few extra stitches.

Pattern is resizeable for different yarn weights.
