This pattern is for a light summer scarf using 100 grammes (440-460 yards) of fingering or light fingering weight yarn, incorporating simple cables and columns of fagot lace.

Although it is not reversible both sides are attractive. One side has the deep texture of the cables, the other is smooth and really showcases the lace columns.

Iolaire is Gaelic for golden eagle, which has a wingspan of between 6 and 7.5 feet - the scarf will block to over 6 feet long and from 6.25-9 inches wide to really open up the lace if desired.

The sample was made using just under one skein of Noro Kureyon sock yarn and measures 6.25 inches wide and 76 inches long after light blocking.

Charted pattern with full written instructions.

You will need to weigh your yarn to determine how many middle repeats you can achieve. It is knit in one piece - no grafting!

I recommend using needles/cable needle with a little grip as you will be cabling at the start of rows. It is also best to avoid highly variegated yarn which do not show the cables.
