My love affair with textiles, deep appreciation of warm fibers and the solace that can be found in the process of creating beauty with my own fingertips… these were the lessons of my childhood, lovingly taught under the gentle guidance of my mother. She would have loved this stylish and versatile wrap, with its meandering cables that offset rich texture and feminine lace.

Although surprisingly simple in shape, this wrap’s intricate stitch pattern keeps both mind and fingers deeply engaged while bulky yarn helps it work up quickly. Choose from written or charted instructions to create a truly beautiful and unique garment that treasures the traditions that pass the love of fiber to each new generation.

Gauge:
11 ¾ sts and 15 ¼ rows = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette stitch.
12 sts and 15 rows = 4” (10 cm) in pattern after blocking. Since the wrap is worked sideways, your row gauge will determine the width and therefore the fit of the wrap.

Yarn:
440 (490, 530, 650, 700, 740, 790, 830) yd of Malabrigo Yarn Chunky (100% merino) – 104 yd (95 m) per 3.53 oz (100g) in Polar Morn. Substitute with any bulky weight yarn (CYCA#5) with good stitch definition.

Skills needed:
Casting on and binding off; knitting and purling; working basic lace; working basic cables; crocheting edges.

Notions:
• US size 13 (9 mm) knitting needles
(or size to obtain correct gauge)
• cable needle (optional)
• crochet hook size L/11 (8 mm)
