This pattern works well with a lot of yarns, just check your gauge carefully in the pattern stitch because you don’t want your headband to turn out too wide. I was inspired by the beautiful green shade of Blue Sky Alpaca’s Organic Cotton to make the “Irish Rose” in time for St. Patrick’s day this year. I almost crocheted a shamrock to embellish it instead of the flower, but thought the flower would make it wearable more year-round. I do however have an Irish friend that will be getting the shamrock version.

The headband knits up very quickly and makes a great and inexpensive gift. My daughter is wanting to keep all of the samples I made for the LYS in OKC so I am knitting bands as fast as I can!
